This module focuses on clarifying and challenging important concepts underpinning intercultural care. The purpose of this module is to help students develop an advanced understanding of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by health care professionals when providing culturally competent care. Students will critically review factors that facilitate and hinder culturally competent practice. Opportunities to critically examine approaches for developing cultural awareness, cultural knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and cultural competence in the delivery of health care are also provided.
