University of Limerick Orchestra presents their annual Christmas Concert at University Concert Hall Limerick on Saturday 9th December at 8pm, under the baton of Conductor Liam Daly. The orchestra will perform Dvorák's Symphony No. 7 Op. 70, the Hungarian March from the Damnation of Faust by Berlioz, the very popular Walking in the Air from The Snowman by Howard Blake and a selection of Christmas favourites.
Guests for the evening include Limerick's own Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ choir directed by the very talented Orla Colgan and Boy Soprano Daniel Ryan, a Tipperary native and student of Soprano Emma English in the Limerick School of Music.
The University of Limerick Orchestra (ULO), established in 1992, is an amateur, community orchestra, funded by the University of Limerick. The players are made up of students and staff from the University, Mary Immaculate College, the Redemptorist Centre of Music, the Limerick School of Music, other music schools across the region, and music lovers from the greater Limerick community.
