Prof. Michele O'Dwyer Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management

Prof. Michele O'Dwyer

MBA Programme Director
With multiple teaching awards to her name, Prof. Michele O’Dwyer has led the MBA programme at UL since 2014. She holds a PhD from the University of Ulster, previously running a consultancy investigating marketing issues in a diverse range of industries in Ireland and across Europe. Her continuing close links with industry support her award winning research which focuses on performance, innovation, alliances, SME marketing, and new product development.
At UL, we have over 30 years’ experience running an MBA programme. We’re also accredited by AMBA, AACSB and PMI. I challenge our faculty to ignite and empower learning, to inspire students and really connect with their audience. Nothing is sacred when it comes to the learning experience, and we’re never too proud to adapt and change ourselves the way we challenge our students too.

Prof. Stephen Kinsella Professor of Economics

Prof. Stephen Kinsella

Lecturer in Macroeconomics and the Global Economy
Stephen is a Professor of Economics for the MBA programme as well as a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne School of Government, University of Melbourne, Australia, and Research Associate at the Rhodes Centre for International Finance at Brown University. Stephen is the Chief Economics Writer for The Currency.news and was a columnist for 4 years with the Sunday Business Post. He has also written for the Guardian, the New York Times, and the Irish Independent and twice won Economic Commentator of the Year for his columns.

Dr. Nuala Ryan Strategic Leadership

Dr. Nuala Ryan

Lecturer in Strategic Leadership
Nuala is a lecturer and researcher of Management and Marketing at the Kemmy Business School. Her areas of focus include Strategic Management, Leadership and Organisational Behaviour. She has been a lecturer at the University College Cork, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, University College Dublin, The National College of Ireland, NUI Galway and currently in University of Limerick. Prior to becoming a full time lecturer Nuala has worked in industry where her main responsibilities included HR Business Management, Organisational Development, Team Development and Learning Organisation Management. This experience has led to a wide range of teaching, research and publication interests in the broad area of leadership development, strategic management and general organisational behaviour.lecturer at the University College Cork, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, University College Dublin, The National College of Ireland, NUI Galway and currently in University of Limerick. Corporate and Financial Reporting

Prof. Philip O’Regan

Lecturer in Financial Reporting
Prof. Philip O’Regan was Executive Dean of the Kemmy Business School 2011-19 and has previously acted as Director of the UL MBA and Head of Department. Philip’s principal area of interest is financial accounting and he has lectured in this and Financial Information Analysis for over thirty years. His teaching excellence has been recognised with awards on a number of occasions.

Prof. Sheila Killian

Lecturer in Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Finance
Professor Sheila Killian teaches corporate finance and corporate social responsibility for the MBA program and postgraduate courses at UL. She has also taught these subjects at Aalto University in Finland, University of the Witwatersrand and Rhodes University in South Africa. She is currently Director, Principles for Responsible Management Education at the Kemmy Business School. Her previous roles include Assistant Dean, Research; Head of Department; Course Director; and Head of AACSB Accreditation. In addition to her undergraduate degree, her Masters in Business Studies and PhD she is professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant and as an associate of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland.

Dr. John McCarthy Corporate Strategy Analysis

Dr. John McCarthy

Lecturer in Corporate Strategy Analysis and Strategy
Dr John McCarthy has over a decade of experience lecturing and teaching students from both the public and private sector. He’s currently course director of the MSc in International Management and Global Business in the Kemmy Business School. John has undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Science, IT, Business, Teaching and Learning and has a PhD in Strategy from Nottingham University Business School.

Prof. Lisa O'Malley

Lecturer in Relationship Marketing
Professor Lisa O’Malley teaches Relationship Marketing on the executive MBA at UL. She’s an award-winning lecturer and accomplished thought leader in Marketing, with over 100 scholarly publications to her name. She encourages critical, creative and reflective engagement with her material and is a member of the Academy of Marketing Executive Committee, the foremost professional body for marketing academics in the UK and Chairs its Research Subcommittee.

Prof. Michael Morley

Lecturer in International Management
Professor Michael Morley teaches international and cross-cultural management on the executive MBA at UL. He holds the Chair in Management at the Kemmy Business School where he has been a faculty member for over 20 years. In conjunction with his collaborators, he has authored 15 books, edited an additional 16 and published more than 115 peer reviewed journal articles. Michael has received several best paper awards and been presented with the University's Research Excellence Award on three separate occasions (1999; 2006; 2010). In 2013, he was elected to Fellowship of the Irish Academy of Management for his contributions to the discipline and to the Academy.

Prof. John Fahy

Lecturer in Market Orientation and Customer Focus
An award winning international researcher and teacher, John Fahy is Professor of Marketing on the executive MBA at UL and Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Adelaide. He has a distinguished track record in the fields of marketing and business strategy and is particularly known for his work in the area of marketing resources and capabilities. He is the author of dozens of articles on marketing and strategy that have been published in leading titles including Journal of Marketing, Journal of International Business Studies and Journal of Business Research. He is also the winner of several major international research awards such as the AMA Services Marketing Paper of the Year Award and was awarded the prestigious Shannon Consortium Teaching Excellence Award in 2012 for his work with MBA programmes.

Dr. Siobhan Tiernan

Lecturer in Aviation modules
Dr. Siobhan Tiernan is the MBA (Aviation Management) Stream Leader, at UL, and teaches Air Transport Characteristics on the executive MBA programme. She was awarded a year long Fulbright Scholarship to research and teach at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, USA. She has also lectured in Vietnam under a Lotus Plus Erasmus award. She is lead author of the best-selling Modern Management textbook in Ireland, and has authored many articles on airline business strategy, structure and culture, and flexible working arrangements.

Problem Solving is best served in the form of action learning. Transformational learning is deep, constructive, and meaningful learning that goes beyond simple knowledge acquisition. Solutions to genuine business problems are a welcome by-product.

Lecturer in Lean Tools and Techniques
Gene is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of LBS Partners where he drives the development of new services and leads fresh and innovative strategic thinking organisation wide. He is also a Co-Founder of Lean Business Ireland a not-for-profit organisation founded to share the wealth of enterprise excellence practiced in Ireland. Gene is an expert in Business Transformation and Leadership Development where his skills in strategy and operations have transformed client companies. Gene established LBS after holding positions in a leading multinational ICT corporation. Throughout his career, Gene has led dozens of large-scale transformation programmes. He has helped clients all over the world define their strategic positioning and build the capabilities needed to deliver real change and growth.

Catriona Burke Strategic Management of Projects

Catriona Burke

Lecturer In Project Management
Catriona has over 12 years industry experience managing and delivering complex projects and programmes within the Financial Services industry. Her diverse experience includes leading extensive organisational change, large scale operational efficiency and complex regulatory and IT development programmes. She is an active member of the Project Management Institute (Ireland Chapter) since 2004. Catriona’s interests include temporary organisation, strategy implementation and the changing paradigms of project management.

Dr. Helen Purtill Data Analysis for Business Decisions

Dr. Helen Purtill

Lecturer In Statistics
A lecturer in Statistics with over 20 years’ teaching experience at third level, Helen has authored more than 40 peer reviewed articles and is the lead statistician on a number of interdisciplinary teams, delivering high impact quantitative research.
From my MBA students, I look for an interest in using data to acquire new knowledge in business. Today in business the skills to collect, analyse and draw value from data are hugely important.

Angela Liddy Commercial and Corporate Law

Angela Liddy

Lecturer in Commercial and Corporate Law
A qualified Barrister who runs her own legal consultancy business, Angela Liddy specialises in Employment Law and Contract negotiations. She currently lectures on Company and Commercial Law within the UL MBA programme, as well as teaching many areas of law to undergraduates in the University of Limerick.

Prof. Tony Dundon

Lecturer in Strategic Human Resource Management
Tony Dundon is Professor of HRM and Employment Relations in the Department of Work & Employment Studies at the Kemmy Business School. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD). He is Visiting Professor at the Work & Equalities Institute, The University of Manchester; and Honorary Visiting Professor at St Andrews University Management School, Scotland; and previously Head of Management at NUI Galway. His research has been published in a range of academic journals, the Irish Times, Sunday Business Post and recent books include: Handbook of Research on Employee Voice, 2e (2020); Case Studies in Work, Employment and Human Resource Management (2020).

Dr. Noreen Heraty

Dr Noreen Heraty is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Development at the Kemmy Business
School, where she teaches Organisational Behaviour, Organisation Theory and Human Resource Management across a range of postgraduate, undergraduate and professional programmes.

Dr. John Carr

Lecturer in Supply Chain Management
Dr. John Carr is a lecturer in the University of Limerick (UL) where he lectures in Supply Chain Management since 2018. John has a Masters in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Cranfield University), MBA (Strathclyde University) and DBA (Doctorate in Business Administration) from Cranfield University. He has worked in Senior Global Management positions across various multinationals including Digital Equipment, EMC, Samsung, and Flex.
