The MSc in Project Management fulltime degree programme at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick was accredited by the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) effective from 01 May 2013 through to the 31 January 2017.

Degree programmes that achieve GAC accreditation must demonstrate and meet the GAC’s rigorous global standards of accreditation, which include an assessment of each programme’s objectives and outcomes, faculty and student evaluations, onsite and online resources, annual self-evaluation, and proof of continuous improvements in the area of project management education.  There are over 41 institutions across the globe that has post- graduate Programmes accredited by the GAC. Another 14 institutions across the globe are currently applying for their Programmes to become accredited with the GAC. Achieving GAC accreditation ensures the quality of academic degree programs and their graduates in order to meet standards in the rapidly growing field of project management.

The M.Sc. in Project Management course is aimed at preparing graduates for working in industry and to embark on a career within a project based setting. The programme already has a proven track record of providing high employment and career prospects, all 2012 graduates were in full time employment within 3 months of completing the program. Employers recognise the value of a globally accredited qualification and the potential for these graduates to provide skills and competencies needed in business today. The program is delivered through proven pedagogical approaches including a blend of experiential learning, group-work, simulation, interactive presentations, assignments and project based case work. Students get great exposure to business and industry professionals, and the opportunity to explore real project related issues with them through case studies and presentations. This gives them a flavour of the exciting prospects that lie ahead as career professionals in a project environment.

The Dean of the Kemmy Business School, Dr. Philip O Regan, has expressed his delight in the Centre achieving GAC Global Accreditation for the MSc in Project Management Programme. The MSc in Project and Programme Management (100% online learning) is currently under review by the GAC. This review will be finalised later this year after the first class from the programme has graduated.
