Your visit to the Library

You will need your UL ID card to gain access via the gates.

The Library is at full occupancy now. However, measures to control occupancy may be reinstated at short notice based on public or university health guidelines.

You no longer have to book a seat, but if you need access to the group study rooms, you will need to book these rooms online up to 2 days in advance and for a max of 2 hours. 

Students & Staff are requested by the University to wear face coverings in lecture theatres, teaching spaces and the Glucksman Library


Terms & Conditions


Access to the library building will be subject to the following terms & conditions, failure to comply with these will result in being asked to leave the library.

  • Drinks are permitted only in reusable cups/bottles or flask, food is not permitted in the library.
  • Do not move or rearrange furniture - furniture is in dedicated places for your safety.
  • The library operates on a self-cleaning basis. Please clean down your study area (i.e. desk & chair) before and after use, using and disposing of supplied wipes in the designated PPE bins provided.
  • Please comply with all signage. Hand sanitiser is located throughout the library building
  • If you have symptoms of Covid 19, please do not come to the library building. If you are in the building and notice symptoms, please maintain at least 2m distance and notify a member of staff immediately.
