Makerspace

The Makerspace forms part of The Library Digital Edge – a suite of technology-enhanced learning spaces that support UL@50’s vision of student-centred, flexible environments that enable creativity, collaboration and engaged learning.   

Open to all UL students, faculty and staff, the Library Makerspace encourages all to create, innovate, and experiment with a range of emerging technologies including: 

  • 3D Printers 

  • 3D Scanner 

  • Arduino 

  • Cricut cutting machine & heat press 

  • High spec PCs with innovative software to enable - 3D design, animation, coding, graphic design, video & photo editing, and much more. 

The makerspace also offers a wide variety of media and technology equipment that is available to borrow & take home for FREE - click here for full details of what is available, and where and when you can collect!

For those trying out new equipment, the library makerspace staff will offer induction and an exciting range of inclusive workshops throughout the semester - these aim to foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills among participants, and if it all goes wrong, just start over again. 

The Makerspace is located in GL1-035 – first floor of the new library building.

The Makerspace is Free to use and open for users to drop-in during the following hours: Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Outside of these hours, the Makerspace is open by appointment only Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 1:00pm, and Friday 09:30 to 4:30pm please contact us in advance, to arrange an appointment.
