Click & Collect

The click & collect service has now been suspended, all requested material must be collected by Friday February 5th, or it will be returned to the shelves.

Items will be available for collection (once you have received a confirmation email) from inside the library, before the access gates. Collection times are between 10am to 1pm, Monday to Friday for the week of Feb 1st to Feb 5th (inclusive). 

There is no access into the library for study or other physical services beyond the entry gates, at this time.  The library will be opening in a limited capacity for seat booking and browsing from Monday Feb 8th, please monitor the library webpages for further updates.

 

 

 

 

 

How to Request an Item

  • To request an item, sign into "Library Search" with your UL username and password

  • When you locate the print book that you want, click on the request option

  • Then click on "send request"

  • You will receive an email from the library when the item is ready for collection, you will receive several emails if you request a number of items, the items are only available once you receive the confirmation email. Notifications will be sent to your UL email address.
  • The item will be automatically issued to you by library staff, so you do not need to issue the item to yourself when you collect it.
  • Once you receive the email, you can come to the library between 10am to 1pm. Monday to Friday to collect the item(s) from a desk located inside the library just before the gates. Access to the rest of the library building is not premitted at this time.
  • All requested material must be collected by Friday February 5th, if it is not collected during this time, it will be returned to the library shelves.
  • There are limits on the number of items you can request.
  • Please check in advance that there is no e-copy available (or of a later edition of same), before placing a request for a print copy.
  • Priority will be given to postgraduate, researchers and staff requests, but we will make every effort to fulfil all requests, should staff capacity allow. This will be kept under review.
  • Failure to collect books may affect your ability to place future requests.

What material can be requested

  • Requests can be placed for materials that you would normally be allowed to borrow, i.e. print material from the library open shelves.

What material can't be requested

  • Theses, journals, reference material, special collection material and short loan material is heavy demand cannot be requested.
