  • You will receive an email from the library when the item is ready for collection, you will receive several emails if you request a number of items, the items are only available once you receive the confirmation email. Notifications will be sent to your UL email address.
  • The item will be automatically issued to you by library staff, so you do not need to issue the item to yourself when you collect it.
  • Once you receive the email, you can come to the library between 12 pm - 4pm, Monday to Friday to collect the item from a desk located at the main entrance. Access to the rest of the library building is not premitted during this phase of reopening.
  • The item will be available for collection for 7 days after you receive the email confirmation, if it is not collected during this time, it will be returned to the library shelves.
  • There are limits on the number of items you can request.
  • Please check in advance that there is no e-copy available (or of a later edition of same), before placing a request for a print copy.
  • Priority will be given to postgraduate, researchers and staff requests, but we will make every effort to fulfil all requests, should staff capacity allow. This will be kept under review.
  • Failure to collect books may affect your ability to place future requests.

What material can be requested

  • Requests can be placed for materials that you would normally be allowed to borrow, i.e. print material from the library open shelves and short loans.

What material can't be requested

  • Theses, journals, reference material and special collection material cannot be requested.
