Welcome new students to the Glucksman Library

Author: Jesse Waters
When: Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 10:00

Welcome new students to the Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick and welcome back to those returning. We hope you enjoyed the break! The library is one of the busiest places on campus and is an important part of every new students welcome and orientation to UL.

The library is open from 8:30am to 11pm during the semester and you can use study rooms, group areas or individual study desks to do assignments, write up notes or work on projects with classmates.

The library's First Year guide will help you find your feet and become familiar with the range of supports that the library offers. This video made by a group of current UL students gives valuable tips from these students to their first year selves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PprIPIL6zqE

Jesse Waters is the librarian dedicated to supporting first year students. Throughout the semester he will be offering information literacy classes on topics including finding information and referencing. He is also available for individual consultations and will offer drop-in hours where you can show-up and ask questions.

The most important thing to know about the library is that help is always available.  If you need to know about borrowing books, reserving a study room, photocopying or resetting a password please call to the Information Desk on the ground floor, visit the website or send your question to us online.

The library is on Snapchat  and Instagram so you may want to follow us there for regular updates during the semester. Watch out for tours of the library and classes with Jesse Waters or the faculty librarian for your area.

The best of luck for your first semester at UL.
