Welcome to the Glucksman Library

Author: Michelle Breen

Congratulations to all new students, and welcome to the Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick. The library is one of the busiest places on campus and is an important part of every new students welcome and orientation to UL. Michael Smalle is the librarian dedicated to supporting first year students, and Michael works with a team of Student Peer Advisors at the library at the start of every year to help you with all your questions. The library has a First Year guide to help you find your feet and become familiar with the library layout and the range of things you can do at the library.

The library is open until from 8:30am to 11pm during the semester and you can use study rooms, group areas or individual study desks to do assignments, write up notes or work on projects with classmates.

The most important thing to know about the library is that help is always available.  If you need to know about borrowing books, reserving a study room, photocopying or resetting a password please ask a Student Peer Advisor, call to the Information Desk on the ground floor of the library, visit the library website or send your question to us online.

The library is on Snapchat (Library UL) and Instagram so you may want to follow us there for regular updates during the semester. Watch out for classes with Michael Smalle or the subject librarian for your area.

The very best of luck for your first semester at UL.
