Summer services at the Glucksman Library 

The Glucksman Library will remain open throughout the summer for essential access during weekday office hours with limited evening opening – please consult the library website for details of opening hours when planning your visit.  


Access to the library 

There is a limited number of essential use study seatsand 30 minute Browse & Borrow visits for students who need access to essential print material - advance booking is essential.  In line with Covid restrictions, the group study/meeting rooms will remain closed until further notice.    

Masks are mandatory for the duration of your visit, and we ask that all public health measures are adhered to, e.g., social distancing, regular washing of hands, following directional signage etc.


Returning Library Material 

Any graduating or non-returning students should return library material as soon as possible to the library if on campus. You may return books on a drop & go basis at the library entrance (no booking required).  However, any students not living in Limerick should contact the library at to avail of the library’s free postal returns scheme.  

Students that are returning in the next academic year should continue to hold on to their loans until the beginning of term. However, you may return books on a drop & go basis at the library entrance through-out the summer. There will be no fines on overdue books this year. 


Online Workshops 

Librarians will continue to deliver workshops throughout the Summer, keep an eye on the Events calendar.


Virtual library 

Online collections are available 24 hours a day to UL students and staff and are accessible from the library website - to access library resources remotely log in to the remote access serviceusing your UL network ID and password. 


Scan & Deliver 

Request a digital scan of physical articles or chapters, subject to copyright restrictions, click hereto avail of this service.
