How to order new ebooks for online teaching

When: Thursday, March 12, 2020 - 14:00

The library will increase its ebook collection to facilitate student learning during this closure.  Not ALL books are available as ebooks but we will endeavour to get as many ebooks for students as the University’s contracted ebook supplier can provide.

We invite teaching faculty to recommend an ebook for the modules that you teach. Please send the following information through the Library’s Ask Us service, or email it to libinfo@ul.ie so that we can process the order:

  • Module code
  • Book title
  • Author
  • Edition
  • Year of publication
  • ISBN if known
  • Approx. number of students taking the module

When the ebook is available for your students we will add the link to your online reading list and notify you of the link that your students can access online.
Assistance with your online reading lists is on the library’s website but please send your queries to the Library’s Ask Us service, or email it to libinfo@ul.ie

New books acquired by the library are also listed on the New Books Guide

The library’s current ebook holdings are available to all students to view and download, search here https://www.ul.ie/library/

You will have some preferred publishers whose books you wish to have added to the UL collection, but to search a broad base of ebooks, use the Advanced Search in WorldCat or search for ebooks
