The Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE)  is a national survey that is distributed to first year, final year and postgraduate students across the country every year.  It covers a range of aspects of student life and the results can be useful in informing local and national strategies. The ISSE will be open to University of Limerick students in Weeks 2 – 4 this semester. The survey is managed by an independent group under the auspices of the Irish Universities Association (IUA), Technological Higher Education Association, Ireland (THEA), and the Higher Education Authority (HEA). The results of previous surveys are available on the ISSE Website.

UL’s response rates last year increased significantly (thanks to your efforts and support), but are still relatively low so this year we urge you to complete the survey to give UL a more robust data set that will provide us with more reliable insights. As an incentive, UL provides €1 towards the student hardship fund for every survey completed.

The Glucksman Library’s Student Engagement & Success Librarian, Michael Smalle has set up an information stand at the entrance to the library to tell you all about the ISSE Survey. Michael and his team of students can tell you the benefits of doing the survey.
