Finding space to study – 3 tips for students

When: Friday, March 10, 2017 - 17:15

There is a noticeable increased demand for library study spaces after Week 7. The peak times in the library are from 11am – 4pm on weekdays so if you can plan your visits outside of these times you will have a better chance of securing a study space.

The library is many people’s preferred study space but there are other rooms on campus such as A1083b, SR2034 and S201 & S203 that you should be aware of as we approach peak occupancy in the Glucksman Library.  These are library spaces and as such the Library’s Code of Conduct applies equally to these rooms as it does to the library. Check with the portering staff in the Main Building, Schrodinger and Schuman for opening hours of these rooms.

There are bookable study rooms available in the library to allow groups of students to work together on assignments. These rooms can accommodate 2 – 8 students for 2-hour blocks and are an ideal place to work on projects together. The Library’s Seat Booking Policy applies year round and in April an active Desk Clearing campaign will commence so that as many students as possible can avail of library study spaces.
