Digital Skills workshops for students

The Library, in collaboration with ITD and the IUA funded EDTL (Enhancing Digital Capacity in Teaching & Learning) project is providing digital skills workshops for students in Weeks 4, 5 & 6. These digital skills workshops are designed in direct response to UL student feedback in the INDeX (Irish National Digital Experience) survey.  

The workshops will see over 20 hours of instruction being delivered by UL librarians, ITD and the UL Lead for the EDTL project on tools and technologies that are available to UL students to assist with their academic work.  Please share with your students if you want them to attend any of these sessions.

The Digital Skills workshops can be booked online  and topics will include:  

  •    Designing Digital Presentations: Level-up your PowerPoint game  
  •    Excel Essentials: Data Entry, Tables and Charts   
  •    Finding copyright free images for your thesis/assignment  
  •    How to record and edit an interview using Audacity  
  •    How to spot Fake News – tips on critically evaluating information sources  
  •    Making great posters using free software   
  •    Microsoft Word for Assignments: Basics and Beyond  
  •    Notetaking in a digital world 
  •    Searching library databases  
  •    Using EndNote for your references  
  •    Using Microsoft Teams for project work  
  •    Using Panopto to create a video on SULIS  
  •    Working securely online – protecting your digital identity
