The Glucksman Library is pleased to announce our latest Open Access publishing agreement with BMJ Publishers

The BMJ Publishing transformative agreement negotiated through the IReL consortium will enable a transition towards open access publishing.

All current staff members and students can take advantage of this agreement, where all eligible research articles will be published on an open access basis at no cost to authors. The agreement covers the period 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2023.

The agreement covers 27 journals in the BMJ Standard collection.

For a full list of journals see either:

More information on the agreement can be found at this link

Other publishers with whom agreements have been negotiated through IReL are:

For more information see our Open Access Libguide, and remember, when choosing a journal in which to publish, always check that publisher’s Open Access policy to ensure that you can comply with funders’ Open Access policies. Where there is no agreement with a publisher, you may need to include APC (Article Processing Charge) costs in a funding application. Policies can be checked at https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/ (Romeo for publishers, and Juliet for funders).

Authors can also make their articles open Access by depositing a compliant version of their articles in ULIR, The University of Limerick’s Open Access Repository.
