Entry Requirements

Please find below entry requirements for entry to the UL International Foundation Programme

  • Upper Secondary School Graduation Diploma with an average grade of 7 or above including English, Mathematics and another language.
  • Specific subject requirements also apply.  
  • For direct entry, applicants are required to complete a minimum of 1-2 years of a Bachelor Degree programme (Bằng Tốt Nghiệp Đại Học) from a recognised university with good grades or a recognised Foundation programme. 
  • Students must also hold the Upper Secondary School Graduation Diploma with an average grade of 7 or above including English, Mathematics and another language.
  • Specific subject requirements also apply.

 

Alternatively, students who graduate from a Vietnamese Gifted High School can get direct entry to Bachelor Degrees. They must hold a high school a Vietnamese Gifted High School and have a score of 8.5 or above. Certain programmes with limited places may require 9.0 or above for direct entry. Please contact international@ul.ie for more information. 

A Bachelor Degree from a recognised university with average grades of 7.0 or higher is required for entry to Master Degrees.

Good overall grade and English Language must be presented with at least Grade 4 at Standard or Higher level both in a second language and in Mathematics.

6 distinct recognised subjects which must include: 2 subjects at GCE A Level and 4 other subjects at GCSE O Level which must include English, Mathematics and another language.

  • TOEFL – 580 (paper based) or 90 (internet based)
  • IELTS – Minimum score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in any one component
  • English Test for English and Academic Purposes (ETAPP) – Grade C1
  • GCE ‘O’ level English Language/GCSE English Language – Grade C or above
  • University of Cambridge ESOL – Certificate of Proficiency in English – Grade C/Certificate in Advanced English – Grade A
