To study at the University of Limerick as an Erasmus student, the student's home University must have an Erasmus Bilateral Agreement with UL and the student must be nominated by their home university.
Nominations must be sent by the home university to the Incoming Erasmus Coordinator. We will not accept nominations directly from students.
To nominate student(s) to study on Erasmus, the home university must complete our Student Detail Request Form and send this to the Incoming Erasmus Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org by the following deadlines:
- Nomination deadline for Full Year & Autumn Semester: May 1st
- Nomination deadline for Spring Semester: October 1st
Students who wish to complete a short term research or internship placement, where a there is no pre existing bilateral agreement, must follow a different process which involves contacting the relevant academic department in UL. This process is outlined here.
Once the nomination has been accepted, the nominated student must complete an online application to study on Erasmus at UL.
The student is e-mailed the Erasmus Online Application link by the Incoming Erasmus Administrator; this link is sent to the e-mail address the home university provides for the student at nomination. Once the student has completed their application and the Incoming Erasmus Administrator has processed the application, a second e-mail is sent to the student containing their UL Student ID number and further Erasmus information regarding accommodation, modules and other Erasmus matters. Please note, this can sometimes take a number of weeks due to the high volume of applications we recieve.
