University of Limerick staff and students came together to celebrate the Lunar new year of the rat on Thursday 23rd of January at the Jasmine Palace Restaurant in Limerick City. The students were addressed by members of the president’s office, as well as UL’s Director for China Engagement. It was a fantastic opportunity for staff and students to share and appreciate Asian culture and enjoy some great food. Students from China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia joined the party as they share the same lunar calendar.
Before dinner there were some traditional games, spot prizes and some fantastic student musical and singing performances.
