On-campus accommodation is in apartment style housing in one of the 6 campus villages or off campus rented accommodation close to the University. All six residential villages at University of Limerick are self-catering. We provide all cooking facilities and inventory. While kitchen/living areas are shared with a maximum of 7 others, all study bedrooms are private. While some villages offer shared bathrooms (maximum 4 sharing) our apartment residences offer en-suite facilities for those who wish to have their own toilet/shower. For further information on each of the student villages please go to our accommodation website.
Housing off campus is found in housing estates located near to the university campus. Popular estates include: College Court, Millford Grange, Oaklawns, The Orchards, Briarfield and Curragh Birin. In most cases, these properties are privately owned and the student deals directly with the landlord. Usually students are required to sign a lease agreement for an academic year and are required to pay rental fees monthly. Students living in off campus accommodation are responsible for associated bills which are shared with other housemates. When planning to live off-campus, students should budget for: Electricity, Heating oil (if applicable), Weekly refuse collection, Bedding, Inventory, Cable TV or basic TV connection and TV Licence. Please ensure that if living off campus, you insist on a tenancy/rental agreement with your landlord. Carol Moloney, Accommodation Coordinator is available in the Accommodation Service to assist with your queries and will be happy to advise students on all options available.

Admissions
This is allowed on a case by case basis and normally students can defer their offer one time. After this they may be required to go through the application process again.
Fill in and return the course acceptance form that you received with the offer letter and pay your acceptance deposit of 600 Euro. The form can be posted to the International Education Division, University of Limerick, Limerick, Ireland or a scanned copy can be sent to international@ul.ie
You need to contact the International Office who will then contact the Course Leader to see if this is acceptable.
A scanned copy of your offer letter is sent via email along with the course acceptance form and details on how to pay tuition fees. You will also receive a copy of the Pre-Arrival Handbook.
If you would like to decline your offer you should email the International Office to confirm this.
The International Education Division should be informed as soon as possible if you are not able to arrive in time for orientation. IED will then contact the course leader to find out if it’s acceptable for a student to arrive late.
Application Process
Yes UL work with a number of agents in different countries. Check your home country for more details.
Applicants must use the online application system to apply for graduate programmes. To apply online, you need to select the postgraduate programme you are interested in from the online postgraduate prospectus. An application fee of €35 (electronic transfer) or €40 (Cheque/Bank Draft) will apply. This fee allows you to apply for two graduate programmes in one online application. At the time of applying applicants must upload their educational documents. You are advised to apply early – the closing date for some postgraduate programmes is earlier than July 1st. This is usually highlighted in the online postgraduate prospectus. Students can also contact the International Office for clarification.
Undergraduate students are invited to apply directly to the International Education Division at the University of Limerick. Download an application form and submit along with the documents outlined below. There is no application fee for undergraduate programmes from Non EU countries.
What to include with your application:
- Certified results for all examinations mentioned on your application form and/or confirmation of the award of your qualification(s)
- Certified English language translation of results
- Evidence of English language proficiency
Scanned copies of your application form and all supporting documents should be returned to International Office by email. Closing date for receipt of complete application forms is the 1st of July for September entry. We have a rolling application cycle meaning most applicants will receive news on their application within 10-15 working days after they apply.
The closing date is the 1st of July for September entry. Some postgraduate programmes have an earlier closing date so it’s good practice to check the programme listing on the web for individual postgraduate programmes.
