The Rapid Innovation Unit will develop, deliver and coordinate a programme for clinical immersion-based health technology development. The Rapid Innovation Unit will provide direct research support to identify and develop novel health technology innovations jointly between health care staff and interdisciplinary University researchers. The RIU will also lead the development of a programme of training in health technology innovation orientated towards front line health care staff. The programme of training will be focused on design thinking in health care and development methodologies to identify and develop novel health care solutions that have a high impact on clinical care.
The Rapid Innovation Unit will lead to the development of a health technology ecosystem and research support platform (technology development and training) which will continually rapidly identify and develop high-value research projects across clinical specialities where deployed.
