Annual Department of Nursing & Midwifery Summer Camp

In June 2022, Department of Nursing & Midwifery will hold its Annual Department of Nursing & Midwifery Summer Camp. This very popular two-day camp takes place in the clinical skills laboratories of the Health Sciences Building on the North Bank Campus of the University of Limerick. The clinical skills laboratories are simulated hospital wards and healthcare spaces that create a safe and relaxed summer camp setting for participants. The camp welcomes applications from transition year, fifth year and sixth-year pupils from all around the country.

During the two-day camp, pupils discover more about Nursing and Midwifery as potential career choices. They gain insight into the BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery programmes offered by the Department of Nursing & Midwifery at University of Limerick (UL) and get the opportunity to speak to our discipline-specific lectures about all the programmes on offer. They participate in interactive sessions in the clinical skills laboratories and get to explore the university campus and see first-hand the wonderful facilities available to students. They develop an understanding of what it might be like to study at UL and many return as students on our nursing and midwifery programmes.

*Due to current Covid 19 restrictions Summer Camp has been postponed until 2022*
