At the Health Sciences Academy, we are really keen to support students to understand what it means to be healthy, how they can be health promotion ‘champions’ and what studying for a career in health sciences in University of Limerick could look like.
We are creating and building the foundations for our Junior Health Sciences Academy. If you are a teacher in a primary school in the Mid-West region, or someone who has an expertise in innovation and education for younger students, or is interested in developing health promotion among younger students, we would love to hear from you. We want to partner with our community to shape a Junior Health Science Academy so that children can see a career in health, champion health promotion and be leaders in their schools for healthy lifestyles.
In October 2020, we submitted a proposal to The Health Foundation under their "Q Exchange" funding programme to grow and develop the Junior Health Sciences Academy. Shortlisting will be announced in January 2021, so fingers crossed!
