Louise graduated from the University of Limerick in 2011 with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy (hons). She commenced postgraduate research in the School of Allied Health in 2011, completing her MSc (Research and Thesis) in 2013 and PhD in 2017.
Her current role is Lecturer below the bar in Physiotherapy in the School of Allied Health. She is a member of the Population Health (Long Term Conditions) research group within the School of Allied Health.
Louise’s research interests are in the areas of behaviour change and the management of chronic conditions in the primary care setting, with a specific focus on physical activity. This aligns with the Health Research Institute’s Lifestyle and Health theme.
She is currently exploring the impact of physical activity in adolescent chronic conditions and health professionals’ educational needs in physical activity promotion. Louise is also leading an IPE Practice Education project which evaluates the impact of a resource on IPE in Practice Education settings.
