Rita qualified as a registered general nurse and gained over 12 years post registration experience in Ireland, Australia, and Germany specializing in the area of neurosurgery at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. In 2005 she was awarded a master’s degree in Health Education Promotion from the University of Limerick.
For 5 years, Rita worked as a research nurse at the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health, UCC; where she screened study participants for a portfolio of multi-centre large-scale population based studies in Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease.
Rita joined the UL/UL Hospital Clinical Research Support Unit in 2016 as part-time
Clinical Research Nurse providing support and trial coordination for academic and industry sponsored studies. Her main areas of interest include translational research and health informatics and medical device development.
