This report describes the achievements and activities of the Institute in that year.

For the 2020 report, we have a special focus on projects and collaborations undertaken by our members that contributed to the Covid-19 pandemic response, in addition to a sample of the many other successful projects undertaken during 2020.

You will see that the HRI is continuing its rapid growth in productivity and impact, with a wide range of exciting initiatives.  The 2020 report’s particular focus on research on the Covid-19 pandemic highlights the important role played by the HRI’s Clinical Research Support Unit in Covid-19 related studies and support, and also the diversity of funded HRI projects and critical, collaborations on a local and national level which have enhanced our knowledge of the pathology, epidemiology, and impact of Covid-19.

This work has highlighted the importance of quality health research at UL, and the strengths of the HRI team and members in achieving so much in difficult circumstances during 2020.

With best wishes,
