The Health Research Institute is delighted to welcome Prof Paul Murray from the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Medicine, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham to give a public lecture entitled: ‘A cancer virus and the inflammatory basis of malignancy’ on Wednesday 27th June, 2018 at 4.30pm in the Engineering Research Building, UL, room ERB-001.

Paul Murray is Professor of Molecular Pathology in the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Medicine, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham. Research in the Murray group is focused on the discovery of molecular pathways involved in the development and progression of virally-driven blood cancers, the objective being to better understand the pathogenesis of these malignancies and in doing so develop novel diagnostics and therapeutics. His more recent studies are focussed on the relationship between chronic inflammation and the development of chromosome instability in cancer.
