It is my pleasure to welcome you warmly to the University of Limerick (UL).
You are joining UL at a great time. Celebrating 30 years as a University next year, UL has proven its ambition, creativity and ability to forge a new path rather than follow others. Our focus for the next few years reflects our commitment to even further developing UL as an internationally-connected University with an excellent academic reputation. We are a progressive, research-led University with strong links to industry. We are also known for providing and outstanding student experience, which is a reflection of the deep dedication of our staff.
We are an ambitious University that values excellence, ingenuity, equality and connectedness, as well as ethics, sustainability and a strong sense of community. A pioneering entrepreneurial spirit is central to the success of our University.
Through our focus on talent development for all staff, we want to ensure that your experience in UL enhances your career. We are strongly committed to the development and wellbeing of our staff and are proud to have a Healthy Campus initiative. UL has been to the forefront in relation to equality, and this has been recognised through our Athena Swan award.
As a new member of staff, you will come to UL with a fresh perspective. We want to learn from your experience and I would encourage you to share this to enable us all to achieve our goals.
The momentum in UL is palpable. I am delighted that you are joining us to help further build this momentum. I am confident we can achieve great progress by working together.
