Welcome to the IUA HR Conference, hosted by the 2023 Chair University of Limerick.

University of Limerick is delighted to host the 21st Annual Irish Universities Association (IUA) HR Conference on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 January 2024, at our award-winning campus on the banks of the River Shannon.

Delegates will be coming to UL at an exciting time as the University has just celebrated its 50th anniversary.  While much has changed since our first HR Conference in 2003, leading, guiding and motivating people effectively and sustainably is central to the delivery of a challenging agenda for the Higher Education sector.

Our theme for the 21st IUA HR Conference is ‘Sustainable HR- Prioritising Our People’. We have a number of inspirational speakers who will address several key strategic themes and offer insights and practical inputs on a range of key topics.

Sustainable HR- Prioritising Our People will focus on: Communications, High Performance and Well-being.

On Thursday the conference venue will be the Kemmy Business School on the UL campus and Friday's venue will be the Castletroy Park Hotel, Castletroy, Limerick.

We hope that you will enjoy it and take inspiration from the speakers and your interactions with fellow delegates to build on what you have learned when you return to your organisations. I would like to thank our sponsors Unijobs, Cornmarket, Willis Towers Watson and Bank of Ireland. I look forward to seeing you there.

Bobby O'Connor, Director Human Resources, UL
