Course Overview

Writing for Publication Workshop to support International Researchers & Academics 

This workshop is for international researchers and academics for whom English is not their first language. It has been specifically designed to help attendees enhance the quality of their writing for publication in English. The workshop will be delivered by:

  • Dr Catherine Martin University Teacher, Academic Writing & TESOL, School of Modern Languages & Applied Linguistics;
  • Dr Ide O’Sullivan, Centre for Teaching and Learning & the Regional Writing Centre

    • Primary research papers/review papers

  • Resources to help with academic language necessary for specific communicative purposes e.g. language of discussion, language of criticality, analysis, evaluation
  • Paragraph structure, flow of information
  • Writing activity & peer review
  • Write an abstract based on a given text
  • Peer review abstracts
