Course Overview

Competition for grant funding is increasing, and a smaller percentage of proposals are being funded. ‘Formulating Your Research Proposal’ is a new half-day training course offered by Martina Prendergast in the Research Office. It has been designed to equip you with the fundamentals you need to build a successful research proposal. The course will enable you to:

  • Formulate your research idea
  • Interrogate your research idea
  • Brainstorm your project design.

Participants will learn about the elements of a good research programme and will complete four activities during the course of the training. Participants will be asked to reflect on why they think their idea is innovative, why it is significant, and how they can refine their idea into a set of clearly defined achievable goals. Participants will write a 2-page Summary Research Programme as part of this session.

Requirements: All participants should bring their own laptops
