Course Overview

Data Protection legislation provides for every individual’s right to privacy and each of us as employees are required to undertake our day-to-day duties in accordance with the rules set out this legislation.

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is new incoming legislation which will change data protection law across Europe: strengthening the rights of individuals and increasing the obligations on organisations.

This GDPR-Data Protection awareness course will be delivered in order to provide a practical understanding of Data Protection obligations and requirements and the steps required to aid compliance with the new legislation.

This two-hour course is highly recommended for all employees of the University. There is no charge for attending.

The University’s Data Protection Policy and Data Protection Compliance Regulations and further information on the GDPR are available at: www.ul.ie/dataprotection
