Biography

Associate Professor Lisa Moran graduated from medicine at the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2004. She is a vocationally trained general practitioner (Mid-West GP training scheme), graduating in 2009. She is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. Her clinical expertise lies in addiction medicine, and she was awarded her medical doctorate in this area in 2019. Her specialist areas of interest lie in the management of complex opioid addiction, treatment of clients with a codeine only dependence and in the treatment of Hepatitis C in persons who inject drugs.

Lisa was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills in the SoM in 2013. She holds both a specialist diploma and a Masters in Health Sciences in Clinical Education from NUI, Galway, awarded in 2011. Lisa held the position of the SoM Course Director from 2014-17 and took on the position again in September 2023.
