This is a voluntary initiative, which aims to bring academics and researchers together to exchange experience, and to provide guidance and support in achieving research outputs, including publications, research grants, or other outputs over a 12-month period. Coaching could also be useful to reignite involvement in research. The programme should help participants to learn from colleagues who have experience in particular research areas, resulting in fast-tracking their own research outputs. The research coach’s role will vary but could include: building research strategies; providing links with existing research groups; helping to bring draft papers to publication; strategies for responding to journal reviewers; identifying potential funding opportunities; etc. HR will issue a call for anyone who is interested in becoming a coach, or receiving coaching.
