This MSc provides training in techniques of applied mathematics, and focuses mainly on mathematical models of real-world processes, their formulation in terms of differential equations, and methods of solutions, both numerical and analytical, of the models. The main emphasis of the course is on practical problems which arise in industry, commerce, medicine, and in the environmental and life sciences.
The M.Eng in Mechatronics is a one year, full-time programme and the mode of operation is based on the modular system. It consist of a taught component extending over two semesters, with a Mechatronics project taken over a third semester.
The programme meets a demand for postgraduate courses in the specialised area of Media Studies outside the greater Dublin area. Members of the Department of Media and Communication Studies in Mary Immaculate College also supervise a large number of research masters and PhDs. The Graduate Diploma in Education (Music) is a one-year, full-time initial teacher education programme specially designed to meet the needs of graduates who wish to become teachers of music in secondary schools. This course is run in conjunction with the Irish World Music Centre.

The one year programme is designed specifically for practising secondary school music teachers who wish to continue their professional development. The design of this full-time programme takes into account the school calendar. Lectures/tutorials are undertaken outside of school time at summer schools and at school mid-term breaks.
The MA in Music Therapy is a two-year full-time programme of study which prepares graduates for professional practice as a music therapist. The course requires a high level of music skill at entry allowing students to make the transition to the use of these music skills in therapeutic work with a range of client groups in different contexts.
This programme is designed to respond to the need for increased awareness, understanding and enhancement of services to foster an enriched model of living for persons with dementia.
