UL@Work For a Digital Future

The Future World of Work

UL @ Work is a new range of digital led programmes from the University of Limerick (UL) and co-designed with industry, which enables upskilling and reskilling through combining education and work in areas like; Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, ICT, industry 4.0, robotics, digital leadership, law and technology and future studies.

The whole UL@Work initiative comprises of over 19 programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate, and work-based learners, and are designed to be flexible to the needs of students and employers. The initiative is funded by the Human Capital Initiative (HCI), part of the National Training Fund. Offering a reduced fee to the learner.

Over 19 programmes break into 4 pillars;

1. Professional Diplomas (Launching September 2021)

Part-time, 100% online Level 9 qualifications suitable for work based learners. Diplomas can be stacked to build a Digital Futures Masters. Applications for the Professional Diplomas in Data Analytics, Intellignent Systems, Cognitive Robotics, Computor Vision Systems, Stragegic Leadership and Digital Future & Innovations are now open, apply for your PD below.

2. A new Masters Degree

Build your own Master of Digital Futures. The Professional Diplomas allow you to select the PDs that are suitable to your personal future world of work.

3. Challenge-Based Engineering Degrees (Launching September 2022)

Accelerated Undergraduate Degrees with a longer work-based placements, making students work-ready immediately after graduation.

4. Top-up Degrees

Aimed at non degree holders who are currently working in their field of potential study.

5. Short Professional Development Modules

Also known as Microcredientials, these are suitable for learners who do not want to commit to longer term study, while still gaining an accreditation.

The programmes are designed for companies and individuals who want to build upon the skills needed in the future world of work. 

To build the resilient workforce of tomorrow, now more than ever the worlds of education and work need to come together. UL and partner employers from the Mid-West and beyond have worked closely to create the UL @ Work portfolio. It will offer industry relevant training in areas such as, ICT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, ICT, industry 4.0, robotics, digital leadership, global trade, law and technology and future studies.
