Brief Description

The application deadline for these programmes has been extended to the 10th of January 2021 to accommodate demand. Please note programmes may close in advance of deadline.

Due to the high numbers of applications offers have been slightly delayed, please bear with us and we will be in touch shortly.

Modular skills as part of the Government (July) Stimulus package offers funded places on short focused programmes and are offered in a flexible manner, allowing people to gain important skills without taking a considerable period away from the labour market. Each module will be stand-alone so that participants can gain skills that they can put  into practice immediately in the workplace, but also accredited in such a way as to provide building blocks to a full qualification should the student so wish.

Programmes are free or partially funded for candidates who satisfy eligibility criteria.

***Please note that learners can only be registered on one publicly funded higher education course whether that be Springboard+, HCI Pillar 1 or July Stimulus Postgraduate or Modular courses. Learners are not permitted to be registered on two courses in the one academic year***  

Modular courses applicants can apply for up to 3 modular courses not exceeding 30 ECTS credits in total

When applying, please complete this module preference form with the code of the module you are applying for. Please note your module preference form should be uploaded in the additional supporting docs section of the ‘Qualifications’ tab.

What is it?

Under the modular skills package UL has 910 place allocations.  These upskilling measures are aimed at helping people return to the workplace or education and form a further response to the impacts of the global pandemic. By providing up skilling and reskilling for those who have been most affected it ensures that they will have the skills most needed by employers today.  These courses also focus on future proofing the skills of those in employment particularly in roles that may be impacted by digitalisation
