Housing Law and Policy online will examine the provision of housing and the different types of housing supports available in Ireland. The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the legal and policy issues surrounding housing law – an area of law attracting increasing attention and controversy at both a national and international level.

Introducing an exciting new online module offered by the School of Law at the University of Limerick and Community Law & Mediation.

Housing Law and Policy online will examine the provision of housing and the different types of housing supports available in Ireland. The aim of this module is to provide students with an understanding of the legal and policy issues surrounding housing law – an area of law attracting increasing attention and controversy at both a national and international level.

In addition to affording students a broad understanding of the various sources of housing law in Ireland, the module will consider the implications at a policy level of housing and homelessness.

Legal principles of the right to housing Landlord and Tenant
Social Housing Supports : Application Process Residential Tenancy Board
Social Housing Supports : Allocations and Homelessness Leases and Licences
Local Authority Obligations : Equality Mortgages
Local Authority Obligations : Tenant Obligations Evictions and Terminations
Housing and Advocacy Summary & Overview

This course is aimed at those working in the area of housing in a state or voluntary body or in an information or advocacy position. However, it will be suitable for anyone with an interest in housing law.

CPD Credit ‐ A solicitor practising on a full-time basis and undertaking this course, can claim a maximum of 10 hours eLearning.

€570 per student.
