As bulletins fill up with doom and gloom, UL has decided to make a news programme that’s 100% feel-good content!
On this week’s show, UL Journalism student Mairéad Cleary tells us about the charitable children of UL’s Dr Mike Quayle. After seeing the 4-kilometre lines for food banks in South Africa on TV, they launched an art fundraiser. For every person who donates to giftofthegivers.org, they’ll draw you a personalised piece of art as a thank you.
Another person using their talent to lift spirits is the Principal Second Violinist of the Irish Chamber Orchestra at UL, Andre Swanepoel. André, his wife Rosie Bliss and their next-door neighbours have been performing on their Welsh street to delighted neighbours.
We hear about new research from Belgium where they claim antibodies found in Llamas could aid in the search for a cure to coronavirus and Account and Finance lecture Mairéad Breathnach shows us her alpaca that can wash his paws!
And finally, we celebrate the most popular guy on campus - UL Student Life's Wolfie, who took home the first prize in the World University Mascot Ranking, for the second year running (GO WOLVES!).
