Over 400 International Students graduate in January

Fri, 14 Feb 2020

In January, close to 1,800 students, including over 410 international students, graduated from 180 programmes across five ceremonies during Winter Conferring at University of Limerick.

At the ceremonies, UL President Dr Des Fitzgerald told those attending the ceremonies that the graduating students would be equipped with “the principles and knowledge” that would allow them to build their future.

“I believe that a degree from UL has equipped you for that future, for an ambitious and successful life, it has schooled you in critical thinking and in the values that will help guide you.

“For all of you, the opportunity and the responsibility is the same; live your best life. Be the best example you can be,” Dr Fitzgerald said.

Cleveland’s Meredith Storey, who received her PhD at the Winter Conferring in UL, says her time studying at UL was a “life changing and an unbelievable experience”.

Dr Storey was one of 10 PhD students graduating from the Kemmy Business School (KBS) at UL – the school’s highest number ever in one week and the highest amount of female PhD recipients from the KBS in a single week, with graduates from Ireland, America, the Middle East, India and the UK.
