In October 2019 Dr Omerdic (pictured left) participated in “Diaspora for Development Project”, organised by the International Organisation for Migration, the UN Migration Agency. As a participant, he gave several lectures and tutorial at Universities of Sarajevo and Tuzla to engineers, researchers and students. The first lecture included a comprehensive overview of Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, University of Limerick, including history, participation in MaREI projects, other funding, people, and current projects. The second lecture presented three Case Studies: (1) OceanRINGS+, (2) Mixed Reality User Interaction Interface, (3) Innovative Teaching Methods. The tutorial used innovative teaching methods (blended learning concept) to explain key topics related to modelling, simulation and control of marine craft (underwater robots, surface vessels, drones) and, in particular, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
