Milad an-Nabi (Mawlid)

Milad an-Nabi, also known as Mawlid, is celebrated by Muslims as the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. Mawlid celebrations include prayer meetings, parades and communal meals, making it a wonderful time to connect with friends and neighbours.

In association with Milad an-Nabi (Mawlid) we are organising an online event on Tuesday the 19th October with Naima Manaa. Naima Manaa is an Algerian International PhD student in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences majoring Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics. Naima is from the north east of Algeria. .

Naima will give a presentation on Mawlid Al Nabi and will speak about the following:

  • What is Milad an-Nabi (Mawlid)
  • Why do Muslims celebrate this occasion
  • How do we celebrate it
  • How do the Algerians celebrate this important occasion
