Community Engaged Learning is an integral part of the curriculum for students in the Graduate Entry Medical School (GEMS) and the School of Allied Health where there is a demand for health care practitioners with the skills and competencies that can only be learned in outside the university in hospital, clinical and community settings.
As part of their accreditation, UL students in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Dietetics can be found in a variety of community based settings working with local partners and agencies to develop and deliver mutually beneficial interventions and supports. Additionally, UL is partner to the national PPI Ignite network designed to promote Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in health research.
UL Engage is committed to acting as a bridge between community partners and UL staff working in emergent areas of health and well-being. Our ambition is to develop mutually beneficial partnerships to promote health and well-being in its broadest sense.
If you would like support or information about a possible partnership or engaged activity concerning Health and Well-Being, contact: Alphonse, Jimmy, or Jon.
