
Dr. Michelle McInerney is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, Associate Professor and Researcher in the School of Allied Health. Michelle has over 15 years’ clinical experience working in Ireland and Australia with people with have developmental and acquired disabilities, and their families. Prior to August 2022, Dr. McInerney held an academic role in Sydney Australia and is a Research Associate with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to teaching into the Innovation in Health Care Module, Michelle lectures in the Dysphagia and Therapies and Technologies Modules in the Speech and Language Therapy Department. Her research interests include behavioural assessment and measurement in neonatal and Cerebral Palsy populations; co-design of complex behavioural interventions to optimise health outcomes, and Implementation Science.
