A severe shortage of GPs in a number of areas of the country has been highlighted in a new Department of Health report: ‘Supply and Demand of General Practice in Ireland’ that analyses the supply and the growing demand for family doctors. Dr Liam Glynn, Professor of General Practice at the University of Limerick, also a rural GP & Denis McAuley, GP & former President of the Irish Medical Organisation, discuss this.
