Virtual learning environment

We have been at the core of the implementation of the institutional virtual learning environment since 2006, providing hundreds of pedagogically-oriented training sessions and individual consultations since. We continue to inform the development of real and virtual learning environments and learning management systems in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

This work has been supported by continuous action research at an institutional, national and international level, which as been disseminated through professional fora and peer-reviewed journal publications. Since 2008 we have actively co-led the #VLEIreland Research group, a longitudinal and multi-institutional research project which has led to the largest data collection in relation to VLE use in Ireland, and for which we won the Highly Commended Research Award Learning Technologist of the Year Awards 2018 by the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) in the UK.
