Two unique postgraduate programmes designed for the aviation Leasing and MRO/Technical Services sectors started their academic year in UL last Saturday 16th. September. The new Specialist Diploma in Continued Airworthiness and Maintenance Management and the Specialist Diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance and are both nine month blended-learning postgraduate level programmes for upskilling Aviation professionals. Developed in partnership with ICBE Aviation Finance Finuas and Aviation and Aerospace Skillnets, both programmes are the first of their kind nationally, with modules delivered by leading Aviation sector experts and academics.

According to Greg Larkin, Programme Manager for Aviation with UL’s Graduate and Professional Studies division, “both programmes were developed with significant input from Aviation sector organisations so the content is highly relevant and the blended delivery mode suits working professionals. We’re also very pleased with the high level of interest and support from the sector and in particular for the new Airworthiness programme”, he added.

Linda Barron, manager at Aviation Finance Finuas continues to support the programme and states “ we find the Specialist Diploma in Aviation Leasing & Finance has been of tremendous benefit to our member companies and the feedback from participants has been extremely positive, the programme has true relevance to the growth and demand in the sector for upskilling our future leaders in aviation”. Leasing companies that have participated in the Diploma are GECAS, ELFC, Avolon, Aercap, Dubai Aerospace, SES to name a few. We are delighted with the uptake for the new to world programme that has just been launched, Specialist Diploma level 9 in Continued Airworthiness and Maintenance Management. Aviation & Aerospace organisations have recognised that this niche programme was a requirement for the sector and again will further enhance the skills of Irish aviation professionals.

University of Limerick: Ireland’s leading Aerospace and Aviation institution, providing nine degree and masters courses with more than 700 graduates employed globally, over €30 million in funding for aerospace research (EU and ESA), and partnerships with 100+ leading aerospace companies and institutes.
