Our #COVIDWATCHIRL Twitter campaign centres on reporting of up to date cases and deaths information for Italy, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England/Scotland/Wales, the United States, and previously, South Korea.
South Korea has done an amazing job containing their SARS-CoV-2 outbreak and we hope to learn lessons from it and surrounding countries in the East.
Transmission of virus in our communities requires people to be in close contact, so the general public are the best weapon to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Total recorded COVID 19 cases in Ireland - see how South Korea started testing aggressively 8 weeks ago and how their curve then ends up looking very different to the rest of the countries here. They have ended up with very low number of cases and deaths from COVID-19. We can learn by looking at the South Korean response in detail
Total recorded COVID 19 deaths in Ireland - see from the graph above how the 'Deaths from COVID-19' curves do not necessarily match the 'Cases detected' curves from the previous graph. This is because some countries (e.g. the UK) have lower numbers of cases detected due to different testing procedures being in place
