Public Appointments Service

The Public Appointments Service is the centralized provider of recruitment services for the Civil and Public Service; we also provide recruitment services to Local Authorities, An Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive and many other public bodies. The Public Service offers the possibility of widely diverse and dynamic work opportunities for graduates with a range of expertise, interests and talents. Our website is one of the main access routes available to candidates interested in joining the public service.

There are a broad range of roles available to graduates within the Public Service. The most common entry-level graduate roles include positions in junior management, policy analysis and other specialist roles.  The key entry level grades for graduates in the Civil Service include Executive Officer, Administrative Officer, Third Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, and other professional roles such as Statisticians, Graduate Economists, Trainee Auditors and many more.
