  • 3-day block release

A 3-day block release is an easier and more effective way to study an MBA. Our students find the executive MBA structure of eight blocks of three days each year works really well for them. They can more easily plan around work commitments and evenings and weekends are less affected. Students find that, while here, they can switch off from work and focus 100% on their studies.
  • Foundation Workshop

Participants first come together and enroll at this four-day workshop, which enables students to adjust to the demands and opportunities of post-experience study. The learning process, including the formation of small groups, is also established. Content includes an introduction to the first semester subjects as well as sessions on library facilities, communications and team building. The foundation workshop also incorporates the first teaching block of the MBA.
  • Winter School

Core to this executive MBA programme is a winter school, held in January of each year. Winter school gives you the opportunity to personalise your study by selecting one of several business-related elective modules; Digital Marketing, Technology Management, Strategic Sales Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Enterprise, International Finance, Taxation, Operations Management Performance, Airport Business and Aircraft Leasing.
  • International Workshop

At the end of year one of the MBA, our students participate in a 1 week international programme. A compulsory part of the UL MBA, the 1 week course abroad is fully financed and included in your programme fees. The international week is an integral component of the overall development experience of the UL MBA and is designed to develop international perspectives and insights. Since 1997 the locations for the workshop have been Argentina, Brazil, China, South Africa, USA and Singapore/Malaysia.
  • Thesis

You’ll begin your thesis/project in the summer after your first year, develop it during your second year and complete it for submission the autumn after your final semester. We appreciate that a thesis can be challenging and demanding. To help, we provide extra support where needed, including extra lunchtime tutorials and one-on-one coaching.
  • Optional Specialist Electives

UL provide the only MBA in Europe with specialist Aviation Management electives. Students who opt for these specialist MBA electives will follow the core Executive MBA programme but with several modules specifically tailored to the Aviation industry. These electives are particularly popular with senior technical people, seeking to move into senior business roles.
