Key details of Essay Competition for 2026/27:
Essay title: Artificial Intelligence in Accounting: Evaluating its transformative potential and associated risks for the profession.
Due date: Essay is to be submitted online via Brightspace not later than January 31st, 2026. (https://learn.ul.ie/d2l/home/59102 ) or email entry direct to ruth.lynch@ul.ie
Essay length: The essay should be no more than 1,500 words in length (excluding references).
Referencing & Plagiarism: See the university’s ‘Handbook of Academic Regulations and Procedures’ and ‘Research Integrity Policy’ for more details on maintaining academic fairness. Both are viewable at: https://www.ul.ie/policy-hub/policies. For more details on what constitutes plagiarism, see Appendix 1 of the ‘Research Integrity Policy’. Refencing should follow the UL Harvard Referencing System guidelines.
Eligibility:To be eligible to enter you must;
submit your essay, along with a cover sheet, before the deadline
submit a CV with your essay submission
a complete application for the MSc in Accounting (submit a complete application to the MSc in Accounting at Accounting - MSc | University of Limerick (ul.ie) before 5pm on January 31st 2026 )
the successful candidate must receive a 2.1 or above in their undergrade degree in order to be awarded the sponsorship.
